Margaret L. Nolan, 90, formally of AuSable Forks, N.Y. passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at UVM Health Network-CVPH. She was born in Jay, N.Y. on the 28th day of April 1926, the daughter of Walter & Cora (Coolidge) lincoln. She graduated from AuSable Forks High School in 1945 and later married William G Nolan Sept. 17, 1947.
Her Catholic faith was an integral part of her everyday life. She dedicated much of her life to Holy Name church, serving as a Lector, Eucharist minister, choir member, pie maker and later taught religious education.
Over the years, Margaret served her community in various capacities such as: president of the Ladies Auxiliary, Town of Black Brook historian and assistant librarian. She enjoyed cooking, genealogy, ceramics, and peaceful walks in the woods with her dog.
She was predeceased by her parents; her Aunt Margaret Parshley; husband, William G Nolan July 2011; and eldest daughter, Linda Whitman March 2008.
Left to cherish the memory of Margaret are her three daughters, Janice(Jan) Norcross (Terry), Sondra Shaw, Candace Nolan; eight grandchildren, Lisa Sexton, Matthew Keefe, Eryn Keefe, Ian Shaw, Jennifer Thume (Nathan), Samuel Keefe, Lani Garania, and Ronald Garania Jr.; and six great-grandchildren, Zachary Sexton, Seth Sexton, Ethan Reilly, Ben Cope, Kennedy Keefe, Brandt Keefe.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 10, at Thwaits- Zaumetzer Funeral Home in AuSable Forks. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday
March 11, at Holy Name Church in AuSable Forks. Interment will take place in the Holy Name cemetery in the spring.
