Lucille's Story

Lucille M. Duprey, 68, of the Reservoir Road, Peru, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Plattsburgh, Jan. 27, 1949, the daughter of James and Marie (Blair) Owens. She grew up in Keeseville and graduated from Peru High School in 1969.
Lucille married Gordon R. Duprey, Saturday, April 4, 1970, in St. Augustine's Church in Peru.
She worked for Clinton County Dept. of Motor Vehicles for several years, the Clinton County Nursing Home and later at Clinton County Dept. of Social Services.
Lucille was a member of the Peru Rod & Gun Club and a communicant of St. Augustine's Church.
She enjoyed the beach, watching television, relaxing with family, and her faithful dog, Buddy.
Left to cherish the memory of Lucille are, her loving husband of 47 years, Gordon Duprey; her daughter, Michele Duprey and her children Marshall and Mya Turner of Peru; son, David Duprey and his wife Melissa and their children, Austin Kirby, Keegan and Dawson Duprey of Peru; siblings, Rev. James "Skip" Owens Jr. and wife Barbara of Charleston, S.C., Henrietta Everleth of Peru, and Bruce and Charles Owens, both of Summerville, S.C.; a sister-in-law, Susan Owens of Summerville, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Michael Owens Sr.; and sister, Laura Owens.
At Lucille's request there will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be private and at the convenience of the family in St. Augustine's Cemetery in Peru. A public celebration of her life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, at the Peru Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 309, State Route 22B, Peru.
