Linda L. Castine, 67, of Rouses Point, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.
She was born on May 6, 1949, in Plattsburgh, the daughter of the late Gerald and Lena (Dupee) Clausen. She enjoyed caring for her residents as a certified nurse's aid at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home. She loved cooking big meals for her family, which included baking cookies and pies with her grandchildren.
Linda was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Castine; two brothers, David and Kenneth Clausen; five brothers-in-law, Roger Janendo, Francis, Harold, Daniel, and Wendell Castine; five sisters-in-law, Gloria Hart, Donna Clark, Lillian, Carol, and Beatrice Castine.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn Castine and his wife Kerry, Shaun Castine and his wife Emily; two daughters, Sally Harvey and her husband Dean, Sandra Rabideau and her husband John; one brother, Gerald Clausen and his wife Rose; two sisters, Robin Janendo and Susan Phaneuf; four sisters-in-law, Carol, Emily, and Viola Castine and Sharron Clausen; six brothers-in-law, Donald and Georgianna Castine, Kenneth and Kay Ping Castine, Gerald and Lorraine Castine, William and Theresa Castine, John Castine and his companion Jean Roberts, and Wayne and Pauline Castine; seven grandchildren, Brandon Castine and fiancee Shana Hebert, Cassandra Rabideau, Cpl Ryan Harvey, USMC, Taylor Castine, Rachael Harvey, Hayley Castine, and Ava Castine.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, at St. Mary's Church in Champlain, followed by a reception at the American Legion on Pratt Street in Rouses Point. Arrangements are in the care of the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers.
