Hattie G. Carnahan, 79, of Plattsburgh, passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, in South Carolina. She was born on June 29, 1938, in Ernest, Pa., the daughter of Gary and Helen Goss.
Hattie was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. John's Church. In her younger years she was a talented pianist, and taught several children to play, many who still kept contact with her later in life. She was known to put everyone ahead of herself and go out of her way to help the children in the neighborhood, a true matriarch to many children. In her free time she enjoyed baking, cooking and sewing.
She was predeceased by her parents, and her daughter-in-law, Victoria Carnahan.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Carnahan; their children, Ray Carnahan, Rick Carnahan, Tim Carnahan, and Holly Cadigan and her husband Steve, eight grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 25, at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, at St. John's Church.
