Elizabeth (Lib)'s Story
Elizabeth (Lib) Rizzie Adams died in the loving care of her husband, John (Dick) Adams, on March 15, 2017, at their home in Cadyville, N.Y. She was a long time sufferer of emphysema and had recently been diagnosed with a recurrence of cancer. She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., to George and Anna Johnson on Aug. 10, 1935. She was 82.
Beside her husband Dick she is survived by her children: Mrs. Dale (Joan) McMahon of Lakeland, Fla., Ronald Sears of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Mrs. Robert (Debra) Sutherland of Lakeland, Fla., and Walter Rizzie of Plattsburgh, N.Y. She also had two sisters, Helen Whitney and her husband Richard, Mrs. Richard (Edith) Staley and a brother, Robert Johnson and his wife Anna.
Lib loved and cherished her nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Martha Martin and a husband, Leslie Rizzie.
Additionally, she was gifted with an extended step family who embraced her and loved her dearly as she did them. They include Mr. and Mrs. Timothey Adams, Mildred Adams and friend Matt, Mr. and Mrs. Tomas (Esther) Maquire and numerous other children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that she thoroughly enjoyed getting to know and love.
For years Libby was a bus monitor for Saranac Central School District. She led the Sarance Hollow Jammers Dance Club and most enjoyed dancing and visiting with her friends.
