Edward's Story

Edward J. Legnard, 53, of Lake Street, Rouses Point, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at CVPH Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
Ed, as he liked to be called, was born on Oct. 26, 1963, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to Earl and Marilyn (Taylor) Legnard.
He was employed for more than 30 years in the sales and service industry where he made many life long friends. He retired in 2013 due to disability.
Ed enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, bowling, BBQ's, gaming, social media and especially spending time with his family and friends. His sense of humor and kind heart will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Breann M. Legnard; his friend and former wife, Sheila M. Legnard, both of Rouses Point; brother, John Palasik and wife Maryann of Milton, Vt.; two sisters, Amie Noel of Gresham, Ore., Linda Anderson and husband Ronny of Troutdale, Ore.; brother-in-law, Dave Dickhaut of South Burlington, Vt.; uncle, George Legnard and life partner Faith Lamberton of Rouses Point; aunts, Shirley Bechard of Rouses Point, Virginia Guay of Rouses Point; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his best friends, Ralph Soluri, Amber Nichols, Jim Jarvis and John Currier.
He is predeceased by his parents and a sister, Terri Dickhaut.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service in his honor and memory will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 15th, in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Rouses Point.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the Spondylitis Association of America or the Rouses Point Fire Department.
