Dorothy Ricci, 94, formerly of Route 22B, Morrisonville, passed away peacefully on Feb. 25, 2017 at the Clinton County Nursing Home.
She was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. on May 20, 1922 the daughter of Arthur and Clara (Hoekstra) Retzlaff.
Dorothy taught elementary school in Wisconsin and later helped military personnel and their dependents, obtain their GED and taught English as a second language at the Plattsburgh Air Force Base.
Dorothy and John organized and ran the North Country Flea Market Association. They spent thirty-five summers selling at Flea Markets in NY and VT.
Dorothy was active in the United Methodist Church, May Currier Senior Group and the American Military Retirees Association Auxillary.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Bissonnette and her husband Leon of St. George, Utah; sister-in-law, Janice Retzlaff of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; nephews, John, Paul and Bob Jr. Dernbach and Jeff and Dan Retzlaff; and niece, Cynthia Weston.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband John Ricci; brother, James Retzlaff; and sister, Audrey Derbach.
At her request there will be no calling hours and entombment will be private.
