Donald J. Saukas, 82, of Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at the UVM CVPH Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on May 4, 1935, the son of John and Catherine (Frechette) Saukas.
Don retired from Ford Motor Company. He had a love for cars; attending car shows or watching races. In his free time he could be found taking walks and enjoyed being in the sun.
He was predeceased by his parents, his siblings, James Saukas and Beverly Gerken.
He is survived by his daughter, Deidra Saukas, his granddaughter, Amanda Saukas, his great-grandson Kamden, his brother, Richard Saukas and his companion Arlene, his sister-in-law, Beverly Saukas, his aunt Mildred Decelle, his companion Marge, his cousin Nori and her husband J.C. Lawson, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
