Dolores W. Young, 86, of Robert Long Apartments, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Aug. 20, 1930, the daughter of Theodore and Edith (Bouvier) Doucette. Dolores was an aide at Oak Street School retiring in 2005 after more than 30 years of service. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with family and friends. Dolores was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Donald Young; her brothers, Gerald and Allen Doucette; a sister, Janet Bouyea and her triplet sisters, Dora and Doris.
She is survived by a daughter, Hope Feuerstein and her husband Ed of Glenville, N.Y.; two sons, Shane Young and his wife Rita of Tampa, Fla., and Michael Young of Plattsburgh; a sister, Hope Doucette of Plattsburgh; three grandchildren, Kristina Sowell and her husband Alondo of Clarksville, Tenn., Brittany and Zachary Feuerstein, both of Glenville, N.Y.; three great-grandchildren, Lealani, Sherrod and Alondo Sowell Jr.; several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be at the Plainfield Union Cemetery in Pen Argyl, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Country Cancer Fund or North Country Honor Flight.
