Dana R. Dintaman, 76, of Maryland Road, passed away on Monday, Feb. 27, 2017 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Brunswick, Md. on March 9, 1940, the son of Ray C. and Mae O. (Whipkey) Dintaman.
Dana enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1959 and worked as a jet engine mechanic. He was stationed at various military bases all over the world and retired from Plattsburgh Air Force Base after 24 years of service.
He enjoyed spending his time going camping and fishing, playing a round of golf with his friends, and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Paulette (Russell) Dintaman of Plattsburgh; his daughter, Dena Ann Peters and her husband Frederick of Harrings, N.Y.; his son, Cary Lee Dintaman and his wife Siony of Orlando, Fla.; two step-daughters, Casey L. Manwell and her husband Jared of Liverpool, N.Y. and Brandy Marsteller and her husband Bryan of Colton, N.Y.; three brothers, Charles, Dale, and Donald Dintaman and their families; three grandchildren, Mark Dintaman, Danielle Peters, and James Peters; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dana also leaves behind two special cousins, Charles and Diane Boglisch and their family.
Dana was predeceased by his first wife Marjorie Dintaman on June 1, 2000.
Calling hours will be private for the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 in Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will take place in the spring in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center.
