Carol F. Duquette, 70, of Champlain, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, surrounded by her daughters, grandson, Tanner and her amazing caregivers.
She was born Oct. 20, 1946, in Plattsburgh, the daughter of Adolphus and Lucille (Jarvis) Lacount.
Carol enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the casino, dancing, gardening and playing cards, and her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Russell LaCount; one sister, Linda LaCount and two brothers-in-law, David Ero and Harvey Hart. She was also predeceased by two infant grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Diane Duquette Burl and her husband Joseph of West Chazy, Denise Duquette of Champlain, Lisa Duquette and her companion, John Wheeler of Chazy; one brother, John LaCount of Rouses Point; two sisters, Theresa Ero of Champlain and Gloria Hart of Champlain; seven grandchildren, Austin Burl, Patrick Parent, Ryan Parent, Tristan Conners, Tanner Conners, Addison Dubuque and Aria Dubuque. Carol also leaves behind her favorite aunt, Ida LaCount and her caregivers, Kylie, Deanna, Brianna, Andrea and Chrystall as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and God Children.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 27th, at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 28th, at St. Mary's Church in Champlain. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Chazy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Duquette family in support of Carol's caregiver family.
