Anthony "Tony" Hargett, passed away at his home surrounded by his family and friends on Saturday, April 15, 2017, after a long illness. Tony was born on Feb. 28, 1966, in Ticonderoga, New York.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jeanette and Elmer Whitford of Crown Pointl; and daughter, Casey Hargett of Ticonderoga. He is also survived by his three sisters and six brothers; Lisa (Robert) Norton, Angle(Trent) Male, Tonya Baily, and partner Jason Pressley, Edward Hargett, Shawn (Debbie) Whitford, Derrick (Evelyn) Whitford, Karl Hargett, Dawson Hargett, and Carl Rice; grandfather, Dawson White, along with many nieces and nephews. Tony is predeceased by his father James Hargett and grandmother Eleanor Hargett.
Tony loved spending time with his daughter Casey. She was his world. He enjoyed Nascar, fishing, spending time with his friends and family, country music, and being around children and animals.
Tony's family would also like to extend their gratitude to everyone at Mountain Lake Services that was dedicated to caring for him. He also leaves behind those who have had the privilege of providing him care and contributing in his life throughout the years.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, April 27, at Harland's Funeral Home in Port Henry. A reception at the Crown Point Firehouse will take place immediately after the services. A private burial will take place a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mountain Lake Services Foundation (10 St. Patrick's Place, Port Henry, NY 12974) in memory of Tony.
