Wilma Veneto,88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 10, 1929, to the late William and Bessie Baker in New Russia, N.Y. She was married to her beloved husband, Joseph Veneto, for 63 years.
More than anything, Wilma loved to show her affection through her wonderful cooking. She loved to host family and holiday meals, making your favorite meal or sending care packages to her grandchildren away at college, you never left her presence with an empty stomach. She enjoyed taking care of everyone she loved. Also a big Yankees fan, she loved playing softball with her grandchildren, and watching her great grandchildren play their sports. Gigi could be counted on to cheer on her loved ones.
Wilma was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Veneto; and beloved great-granddaughter, Reagan.
She is survived by her loving children, Donna(Barry)Venne, Tammy (Nicholas)Tom, and Donald (Patricia) Veneto; beloved grandchildren, Matthew Jennifer)Venne, Sarah Christopher) Loszynski, Adrienne (Jeffrey) Weld, Alison (Michael) Whitmire, Michelle Venne, Jessica Yeaw, Christopher (Amy) Tom, Ingrid (Wesley)Proctor, and Trish (Heather) Veneto; great-grandchildren who adored their Gigi, Abby, Maille, Jackson, Joseph, Aidan, Addison, Sophia, Patrick, McKenna, Gianna, Eli, Colby and Sydney and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017, in St. Patrick's Church, 12 St. Patrick Place, Port Henry. Internment will be held in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Moriah.
