William Fredrick Haig, 83, of John Fountain RD in Jay, passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 16, 2017. He was born in Lake Placid, N.Y. on Nov 11, 1934, the son on Lloyd Haig and Hazel Ward.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Betty (Edward) Dunham of St. Louis, Mo.; and one brother, Robert Haig. Bill also leaves behind those who had the privilege to be a part of his life throughout the years.
Bill was predeceased by his parents; and one brother, Lloyd Haig.
Bill was enrolled into services at Mountain Lake Services in 1977; Bill was widely known through out the agency and loved by many. Bill participated in many Special Olympic events; he will always be remembered by his sense of humor, smile, generous hugs and contagious laugh. Bill enjoyed spending time with friends, listening to music, singing, reading his bible and most all the Christmas holiday. Bill had a love for animals especially horses. Everyone who knew him would say Bill took pride in the way he looked and dressed. Bill will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017 from 10 to 10:45 at Thwaits Zaumetzer Funeral Home in Au Sable Forks, followed by a Catholic mass at the Holy Name Church.
