Bill grew up in Ellenburg Center, N.Y. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He attended Clinton Community College and then moved to Rochester, N.Y. He was employed at B & E Auto Parts for over 30 years. He loved hunting, fishing, reading, Nascar racing, riding his motorcycle and being in the Adirondacks.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carol (McFadyen) DeLong; son, Nelson Delong; brothers, Robert DeLong (Melody Ives), Peter McPherson (Tonya); sisters, Candy (Don) Parent, Pam(Don) Manning, Sue(Gary) King, Jill (Andy) Eberhardt and Kathleen (Lee Ray) LaValley; brother-in-law, John McFadyen; five nieces and 11 nephews. A private service for family and friends is planned.
