Veronica entered into eternal life on May 9, 2017, at her home with her loving family by her side; she was 87. Veronica was born in Mooers, N.Y., to Cordelia and Herman Barcomb on Dec. 31, 1929. Veronica Barcomb married Clarence Brassard on Sept. 5, 1948. Veronica raised her family in Mineville, N.Y., but later moved to Chazy to live with her daughter, Patricia for 27 years of her life. Veronica loved planting flowers, gardening, cooking for large family gatherings, watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports and cheering on her favorite NBA team. She especially enjoyed when her granddaughters would call and ask her for one of her recipes.
She is predeceased by her husband Clarence, her parents, her sister Gloria, her brother Raymond, younger brother Bernard and son-in-law James Podres.
Survivors include her daughters, Rita Podres of Queensbury, Patricia (Richard) Boyea, of Chazy, two sons, Larry (Carol) Brassard of Moriah, Wayne (Lois) Brassard of Alabama, her sisters, Cecile O'Donald of North Carolina, Barbara Sinnette of Florida, Muriel Sleeper of Moriah and one brother Gilbert of Florida; ten grandchildren: Jennifer (Josh) Barber, Melissa(Rob) Rajeski, Jimmy (Jessica) Podres, Nichole (Craig Beauharnois) Martin, Ashley(Kevin) Ryan, Jamie Brassard, Wayne (Crystal) Brassard Jr., Amy (Rob)Keech, Jeremy Brassard, Richie (Crystal)Brassard and 20 great-grandchildren.
During her illness Veronica was under the care of hospice. She received excellent care from her Nurse Becky with whom she formed a very special bond with.
