Mrs. Vanessa B. Clodgo, 60, of 61 Port Douglas Road, Keeseville, died Thursday, March 1, 2018, at her home with her loving husband at her side, her children, sister and loving family.
She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Oct. 28, 1957, the daughter of Ernest and Beulah Spooner.
Vanessa loved working with children and when she retired from being a teacher's aide at the Keeseville Elementary School she started her new full time job of being a loving and wonderful grandmother "nana" to two blessed grandchildren.
She taught religion and was very active in her church, was a member and secretary of the Altar Rosary Society and the Keeseville Red Hats.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Clodgo of Keeseville, N.Y.; her children and their spouses, Melissa and Jason Francis, of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Harrison and Kaitlin Clodgo of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; and two grandchildren who adored her, Brady Francis and Alexander Clodgo; a sister, Shirley Smith of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a loving mother, wife and soul. Vanessa made her house feel like a home and welcomed everyone and made them feel like family. She was a person to look to for comfort, love and advice. Everyone who knew Vanessa will forever remember the impact she had in their hearts and their lives.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, March 9, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, N.Y. A funeral service will be held in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel at 7 p.m. with Rev. Kris C. Lauzon officiating.
Donations can be made to the Keeseville Elementary School for higher education.
