Thomas's Story

Thomas V. Pelletier, 85, of the Wilson Road, passed away, Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Standish, NY on May 10, 1931, the son of Albert and Josephine (LeJeune) Pelletier.
Thomas attended Lyon Mountain School and later entered the United States Army in 1952, being Honorably Discharged in 1954. He married the former Gloria Strack in Redford at the Church of the Assumption.
Thomas worked in the maintenance department of Plattsburgh State University for many years until his retirement.
He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 1618 in Saranac. Thomas enjoyed his time being in the Adirondacks and spent numerous days hunting and fishing. Thomas was skilled in woodworking and an accomplished jack of all trades. He especially treasured the time spent with his family. His main goal in life was to provide for his family, which he did with gusto and enthusiasm.
Survivors include his loving wife, Gloria Pelletier of Saranac; two sons, Kevin Pelletier and his wife Yvonne of Guilderland, NY and Terrence Pelletier of Nassau, NY; his daughter, Colleen Pelletier of Plattsburgh, and adopted daughter, Karen Ricketson; six grandchildren - Karie, Kelsey, and Morgan Pelletier, Hannah and Marin Lomen, and Autumn Mitchell; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents; Brothers Leo and John Pelletier; and sister, Delima Powers.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Church of the Assumption in Redford. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
