He was born at home in AuSable Forks on Feb. 25, 1934, son of Halsey and Elizabeth (Strong) Bombard.
Tom attended Holy Name School and then AuSable Forks High School.
He was employed by J&J Rogers Company, G&G Tire Company, and AuSable Valley Central School where he retired after 23 years of service as a custodian.
Tom was very devoted to his family and his Catholic faith.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret (Peggy) (Nolan) Bombard, his brothers and sisters, Charles Bombard of Washington, Joan Liberty of Keeseville, Alfred Bombard of AuSable Forks and Linda Singleton of Ohio; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Plumadore and Nancy Bombard both of AuSable Forks, Esther Dorr of Clintonville, George and Karalina Nolan of Peru, Gene and Louise Nolan of Jay, Ann and Allen Rule of North Carolina, Bonnie and Howard Hopkins of Harkness and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Adrian Bombard and his sister, Blanche Plumadore; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty and Jim Bushey, John and Doris Nolan, Florence Bombard, Dorla Bombard and Russell Dorr.
Calling hours will be held at Thwaits/Zaumetzer Funeral Home in AuSable Forks on Wednesday, September 26, from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be held at Holy Name Church Thursday, September 27, at 10am. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Reception to be held at the American Legion Post 504 in AuSable Forks following the burial.
