Tara Marlow Studley, 40, of Broadway Road, Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH with her loving family by her side.
Tara was born in Malone, N.Y., May 19, 1977, the daughter of Tom and Pam (Fleury) Marlow. She grew up in Rouses Point and was a 1995 graduate of Northeastern Clinton Central School. After high school she continued her education earning a Bachelor's Degree from Simmons College, Boston, Mass., and a Master's Degree from Plattsburgh State University.
Tara was the assistant dean of the School of Business and Economics, Plattsburgh State University, where she impacted the lives of both students and faculty. She was a consummate professional with a passion for education. This passion was especially evident when a student needed extra help, guidance or attention.
Tara was a contributor to the North Country Youth Leadership Conference, president of the board of directors of College Auxiliary Services, a member of the National Academic Advising Association, a member of the Academic progress Review Committee, adviser to the SBE Dean's Student Advisory Group, and a member of the Behavioral Assessment Committee.
Tara loved life and all that it offered. She loved her career, books - reading, learning and teaching. She loved gardening, sewing and decorating her home. But most of all she loved her family.
On Aug. 14, 2010, Tara married the love of her life, William Judsten "Jud" Studley. Together they created a wonderful, loving home and family, which grew nearly every year. She was so proud of their three beautiful sons, Westen Thomas Studley, Kai William Studley and Max Monroe Studley. They will be Tara's legacy.
Along with her husband and three sons, Tara is survived by her parents Tom and Pam (Fleury) Marlow of Rouses Point; sister Lisa (Marlow) Turner, husband Jared, and three sons Emmett, Simon and Oliver of Rouses Point; in-laws William and Bridgette Studley of Morrisonville; Alan and Cathy Edman and their family of Peru; Brett and Mark LeClair and their family of Plattsburgh; Wade Studley and Dana Curle and their family of Plattsburgh; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends throughout the community and beyond.
At the request of Tara and her family, there will not be any public calling hours or service. There will be a private celebration of life for family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Tara, the family will establish The Tara Marlow Studley Memorial Scholarship Fund.
