Stewart Dewey, 68, formerly of Plattsburgh, died on Feb. 10, 2018, at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital; Allen-Denesha Funeral Home, DeKalb Junction, entrusted with arrangements. There will be a graveside service in the spring at Hermon Cemetery.
He is survived by his mother, Eleanor Dewey, Tennessee, his sister, Eileen Farrow (James), Tennessee, his brother, Dwight "Ike" Dewey (Marilyn), Louisiana, several nieces and nephews.
Stewart was born on Oct. 19, 1949, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., the son of Herbert and Eleanor Hamilton Dewey. He graduated from Saranac High School, Saranac Lake, N.Y. He married Carol Thompson in Morrisonville, N.Y.; she predeceased him on Sept. 9, 2014. He was a lab tech for Ayerst Laboratory in Rouses Point, N.Y. Stewart enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor activities.
