Stephen Douglas, 68, of Rouses Point passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at his home.
He was born Dec. 19, 1949, in Malone, the son of Gerald Douglas and Sarah Moody Clukey. He served in the U.S. Navy, doing two tours in Vietnam. He was a signalman aboard several aircraft carriers, his favorite was the Bonhomme Richard. Stephen also served in the Army National Guard during Operation Desert Storm. His hobbies included ice fishing, hunting and feeding Buddy the squirrel. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ronald Douglas and one sister-in-law, Judy Douglas.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Douglas of Rouses Point; one daughter, Eliza Parker and her husband Brian of Gansevoort; one son, Jerry Douglas and his wife Brandy of Crown Point; one sister, Peggy Johnston and her husband, Gervin of Chateauguay, Quebec; one brother, Larry Douglas of Rouses Point; three grandchildren, Macy Parker, Keagan Parker and Ross Douglas. He also leaves many nieces and nephews who were very special to him.
Friends and family may pay their respects Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Champlain. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rouses Point Fire Department or St. Mary's Church.
