Stephen Desotell, 51, of AuSable Street, Keeseville died unexpectedly, Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018 at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with his loving wife and family by his side.
He was born in Plattsburgh, July 5, 1966, the son of Floyd Roger and Kathleen (Hanley) Desotell. Stephen grew up in Keeseville and graduated from AuSable Valley High School in 1984.
From childhood Stephen knew he was destined to follow in his father's footsteps in operating the family business, Desotell's Garage in Keeseville. Stephen took great pride in his work and made himself available to those in need. Stephen was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
He and Sondra worked side by side and there was nowhere else either one of them would rather be. Sondra, "little" Stephen, Karly and Cooper were the center of his world and he was their everything. Sondra adored her loving husband and will be his true love and soulmate forever. Stephen was a quiet soul whose blue eyes sparkled with Sondra's infectious laugh and beautiful smile. He was loved by so many and helped everyone he could.
Stephen enjoyed spending time with his family, camping trips, fixing and driving cars.
Left to cherish the memory of Stephen are, his loving wife of 13 years, Sondra (Fletcher) Desotell, whom he married, Sept. 27, 2003 in Keeseville; his beloved children, Stephen William, Karly Ann, and Cooper Richard; his parents, Floyd Roger and Kathleen (Hanley) Desotell; his sister, Erinn; and brother-in-law, Joel Passino; and his niece Haley.
Stephen is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Rodney J. and Jennie (Finlayson) Hanley of Keeseville; and his paternal grandparents, William J. and Merilda (Mitchel) Desotell of Plattsburgh.
