Stephanie Anne Rovers

Stephanie Anne Rovers, 64, passed away on Aug. 17, 2019. She was unexpectedly diagnosed with blood cancer on June 25th and fought hard with a smile on her face until she passed peacefully surrounded by loving family.
Stephanie was born in Plattsburgh on July 16, 1955, the daughter of Royal and Anita (Bedard) Giroux. Stephanie graduated from Chazy Central Rural School in 1973 and that summer met the love of her life and best friend, Adrian Rovers. They married in 1977 in Chazy; Stephanie worked at Diamond International for the next 10 years, and then decided to devote herself to raising her two children. In 1992, Stephanie and her husband purchased Church Oil Company from her dad, and together they operated the business for over 25 years.
Stephanie had a bright light inside of her that she shined on everyone thru her contagious smile that could light up a room.
Survivors include her loving husband, Adrian Rovers of Chazy; son, Bradley S. Rovers and his wife Becky of Chazy; daughter, Leslie Rovers of Saranac Lake; mother, Anita Giroux of Chazy; siblings, Bryan and Julie Giroux of West Chazy, Stephen Giroux of Plattsburgh, Christine and William Ashley of West Chazy, Cynthia and James Woodward of Camillus, N.Y., Kathleen Giroux of Plattsburgh, and Eryn Giroux and Steven Stetson of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Jack Rovers, Reid Rovers, Loki Vega, and Rowen Vega; five nieces and seven nephews.
Stephanie was predeceased by her father, Royal P. Giroux, and niece, Meagan Rae Giroux.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22nd from 4 to 7 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

I knew Stephanie from going to the same gym in Plattsburgh years ago. She always had a smile on her face and words of encouragement. She talked me out of a bad mood or two! Even when running into her became rare, she was always the same smiling, upbeat, no-nonsense person who expressed genuine interest in how you were and what you were doing, someone you were happy to see coming toward you. I'm sorry that I won't get to have that experience again. My deepest sympathy to her family that was so lucky to have her. A great woman.

Dear Stephanie, Many years have passed, but the wonderful memories of a childhood friendship remain strong. With you, even the simplest of things became an adventure. I remember bicycling back and forth between our houses, sunny afternoons eating pizza by the quarry, riding the lawn mower on the hill where you built your home, and the countless hours you spent reading historical romance novels. I am glad you found your prince and shared many happy years of life and family together. Rest in peace and happiness. Love, Wendy

Mom and dad, Jack and Carlotta Kelly, sadly told me this afternoon about Stephanie. I’m am so sorry for your loss. Stephanie always treated us so well when we were in Florida. She was a wonderful lady and always treated my boys well at the pool. I loved how she would become so excited when your grandchildren would come to visit. She would always take them to the pool to play with my boys. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless all of you during this difficult time. Cynthia

We are sure that Stephanie was , without a doubt, an AMAZING wife, mother and grandmother, etc.

For us, she was a FRIEND - the kind that infects you instantaneously with her beautiful broad SMILE, twinkling EYES and, yes, huge HUGS.

Oh, and we cannot forget MAGOG in particular - the golf, her love of the French “Pudding Charmeur, sharing a martini by the fireplace and her quick charming wit.

Thank you, dear friend, for the laughs, kindness and love.

We can assure all the family that Stephanie will live on in our hearts forever - as a perfect GEM.

Thinking and praying for all of you.

We love you Adrian
