Shelby's Story

Shelby Richardson born Feb. 13, 1938, on Rolling Mill Hill in Au Sable Forks N.Y., peacefully passed on with her son Rocky by her side at her home.
She worked at Burnells Orchard and Uihlein Mercy Center for many years. Shelby was a strong woman with many talents. In her younger days she was an avid fisherwoman with a great love for the outdoors. She had a green thumb and loved to garden. She collected lily leaves, dried them and would weave beautiful baskets, she also knitted for many people. She played guitar and bass and had a great love for bluegrass music.
Her true pride and joy was her only granddaughter Jessi whom she loved to spend time with passing along her passions of fishing and gardening. Shelby continued to weave herself into her life until the very end leaving an image of a strong and influential woman.
She is survived by her son Rocky Richardson and his companion Liliane Jutras, her granddaughter Jessi Thwaits and her husband Billy Thwaits, brother Loren (Anna) Payro, many nephews, nieces, great nephews, nieces as well as many dear and close friends. She is missed by all that knew her.
Funeral arrangements are at St-James Episcopal church in Au Sable Forks Saturday December 30 at 11 a.m. Their will be a mass and a small reception with light refreshments.
