Sally Jane Snow
Sally Snow passed away peacefully at Meadowbrook Health Care on Sept. 7, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was born in Keene, N.Y., on Nov. 7, 1936, the daughter of Casper (Buck) Jacquish and Helen Siminski. She attended Keene Valley High School. She met her future husband, Larry Snow, on one of her many outings to the Hollywood Theater in AuSable Forks. They were married in Holy Name Catholic Church on June 16, 1956. Together they raised Larry, Charlie, and Sheila. In addition to creating a loving home, as a homemaker, Sally worked at various jobs. Her favorite job was when she worked as a prep cook at Monty's Elm Tree Inn. After Sally became disabled, she delivered jobs that Larry printed at the AuSable Press to local businesses.
Sally was very affectionate; with a ready smile and a hug for everyone. She will best be remembered for her sense of humor which she used as a tension-breaker. In her heyday, Sally enjoyed dancing, making ceramics at Donna Kyea's shop, playing horseshoes on the Women's League at the American Legion Post 504, playing shuffleboard at Paul's Savage Inn and giving new mothers, that she knew, a daily break by going to their homes to care and hold their babies. She also was a dog lover and had many special friends throughout her life. They include JP, Prince and AJ as well as loving all the friends that her daughter has had. For her entire life, Sally enjoyed people watching and gatherings with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband and sons. Left to cherish her memory are her sister Arlene LeClair, daughter Sheila (Arleigh) LaFountain, daughter-in-law Lisa Carpenter Snow along with her and Charlie's children, Chelsea (Kaitlin) Snow, Calley (Samir) Meskinaoui and their children Maeva and Mehdi, and Cayden Snow. In addition, she leaves behind a granddaughter Melissa (Dean) Corron and their children Hannah, Dean, Aalayah, and Weston as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In keeping with Sally's wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral as she has graciously donated her body to the Anatomical Gift Program at UVM Medical Center in Vermont. Memorial donations can be made to Elmore SPCA, the Anatomical Gift Program, or a favorite charity.
