Roy's Story

Roy C. "Rick" Morse, 66, of Route 22, Peru, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH, Plattsburgh, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Plattsburgh on March 11, 1951, the son of Vreeland and Janet (Covel) Morse.
Rick graduated from Peru Central School in 1969 and began working at Georgia Pacific where he would stay until his retirement 36 years later.
Roy "Bub" enjoyed time outdoors working in his garden and fishing. Most of all Bub cherished all of his time spent with friends and family.
Left to cherish the memory of Rick are, his wife of 44 years, Toy (Chamberlain) Morse; his sons, Matthew Morse and fiancee Melinda Krause and children, Kaiden Morse, Avery Morse, and Asher Morse, and Landon Morse and wife Ellyn and daughter, Lilliana Morse; sisters, Marian (Morse) Peters and Amy (Morse) Laforest; brother, Michael V. Morse; sister-in-law, Beverly Chamberlain; many nieces and nephews including a special niece, Katie (Peters) Francia; many cousins; and his faithful canine, Achilles.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Roy and Margaret (Boyd) Covel; paternal grandparents, Edward and Lila (Reynolds) Morse; mother-in-law, Ivis Chamberlain; and brothers-in-law, Vernon Chamberlain and John Peters.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from noon to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William G. Reamer, officiating. A reception will follow with details to be announced at the conclusion of the funeral service.
