Rosemary Miorin, 67, of Peru and previously of Troy, N.Y., passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country. She was the beloved wife and best friend of Joseph C. Miorin Jr. for the past 48 years.
Rosemary was born in Troy, N.Y., August 27, 1950, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Philomena (Lanzillo) Marro. Rosemary worked for Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, N.Y. where she had countless friends, before relocating to Peru. She ended her career in 2009, retiring from the State University of New York in Plattsburgh. Besides her husband, Joe; Rosemary leaves behind her daughters and their husbands, Lesley-Anne (David) and Jessica (Richard); as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and John Bulmer; along with numerous family members and friends. Rosemary was predeceased by her sister, Philomena Marro; and brother, Andrew Marro.
Rosemary was an incredible person and loved nothing more than spending time with her newborn granddaughter and namesake, Penelope Rose. She was elated to learn of the arrival of her second grandchild before her passing. Nothing made her happier than knowing her family was growing, that included the official addition of her step-grandson, Landon. Rosemary also loved walking daily with her husband and their dog, Clancy, as well as baking and trying new recipes.
At Rosemary's request, the services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Elmore SPCA (556 Telegraph Rd, Peru, NY 12972) or Hospice of the North Country (358 Tom Miller Rd, Plattsburgh, NY 12901).
Rosemary's family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the FitzPatrick Cancer Center of Plattsburgh and Hospice of the North Country for their compassion and care. They would also like to specially thank Tammy of Hospice of the North Country for her dedication and kindness.
