Ronald John Liccardi

Ronald John Liccardi, 86, of the Thompson Road, Keeseville, died Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Pittsfield, Mass., April 27, 1932, the son of John and Mary (Renzi) Liccardi. He grew up in Pittsfield, and attended Pittsfield High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and served for two years until his honorable discharge, Feb. 14, 1957. He enlisted with the United States Air Force Dec. 27, 1957, and served 20 years as a jet engine mechanic prior to retiring in 1976. He served two tours in Vietnam during his Air Force career.
Ron and his wife Betty moved to the North Country during his Air Force career and after his retirement they remained. During his service at Plattsburgh Air Force Base he was also a cook at the Surrey Lounge. He later worked for AuSable Valley Telephone Company for many years. In 1981 he opened the well-known Liccardi's Restaurant in Keeseville. He and his family operated the restaurant for many years. After he retired from the restaurant he drove bus for the ARC, worked at Bluff Point, and Whiteface Mountain.
He was a member of the Plattsburgh VFW.
In his spare time he enjoyed building model airplanes, reading, hunting, fishing, and watching the deer from his home.
Left to cherish the memory of Ron are, his loving wife of 51 years, Betty Ann Liccardi, whom he married July 20, 1967, in Victorville, Calif.; one son, Joe Liccardi and his longtime companion, Kerrie Connelly of Keeseville; four grandchildren, David, Heather, AJ (Sarah), and Kyle; five great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Andrew, Conner, Olivia, and Levi; one sister, Rose Marie Daub; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one sister, Joan (Thomas) Lambiase; and brother-in-law, George Daub.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene, 124 Hill Street, Keeseville, NY 12944.
Donations in his memory may be made to the North Country Honor Flight.

To the Licccardi family. Ron worked for me when i was the superintendent at Bluff Point. Areal gentleman, hard worker and just fun to be around. RIP my friend.
