Robert H. Scriver
He was born in Mooers Forks, July 4, 1928, the 11th child of Merritt and Ellen (Morrison) Scriver.
One of Bob's first jobs was working on the Ralph Lewis Farm. He later went to work on the Doane Farm in Chazy, followed by Sheridan Iron Works in Champlain. He soon found his true calling as a tile setter. He worked for DiFabio and Bertolli for many years installing ceramic, marble, and terrazzo floors. He later worked for Woods Floor Covering. When he wasn't working his full time job he was remodeling his home he bought in 1957 from Sylvia's grandfather. In his spare time you could find him working on vehicles for himself, family or friends. He pulled teeth, removed slivers, bandaged cuts and scrapes and cut hair. He raised chickens, pigs, and cows. You could say he was a Jack-Of-All-Trades and Master-Of-Most!! Bob and Sylvia raised seven Foster children and was caregiver for many family members.
He was a member of St. Ann's Parish in Mooers Forks and served as an usher during weekend Masses. He and Sylvia assisted in the kitchen of St. Ann's during many funeral receptions and other occasions. Bob enjoyed time with his family and friends. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish the memory of Bob are, his loving wife of 68 years, Sylvia (Boutin) Scriver, whom he married July 29, 1950; his children, Jim and Judy Scriver, Debbie and Philip Miller, and Wallie Scriver and companion Tina, all of Mooers Forks, and Melinda and Tom Davis of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Tammy and Steve Dube, Julie Neher, Katie Coryea, Tom and Karen Robinson, Heather and Steve Sullivan, Robbie Miller and Carol, Travis Miller, and Glen and Missy LaVenture; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Mabel, Evelyn, Dorothy, and Eileen; brothers, William, Julius, Gerald, Harold, Darwin, and Walter; and granddaughter, Lisa LaVenture.
