Robert E. Dailey, 86, of Plattsburgh, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Syracuse, N.Y., on Nov. 18, 1931, the son of Harry and Emma (Carey) Dailey.
Bob was a faithful Catholic and parishioner of St. John's Church. He retired as a guidance counselor from Beekmantown Central School. His passion was for his students and taking care of his own family. Bob was an avid sports fan, specifically SUNY Plattsburgh, and Syracuse Orange Basketball, the Montreal Canadiens, and all area amateur sports. During the summers, Bob would enjoy his time at camp on Chateaugay Lake, giving water-skiing lessons and boat rides to students.
He is survived by his siblings, Harry "Skip" (Phyllis) Dailey and her children, Sue, David, Stephen, and Donald Dailey; his nephew, Daniel, his niece Deanna, and his close friend Thomas (Patricia) Davey, and family.
Calling hours will be Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, March 16, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Church. Interment will be at a later date at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John's Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
