Robert H. Bergevin

August 23, 1938 - November 17, 2017

Robert H. (Bob) Bergevin passed away on November 17th
at The Arbors at Shelburne from complications of Alzheimer's.
Bob was born in 1938 in Plattsburgh to Henry and Adrienne
Bergevin. He graduated from St. John's High School in 1956.
Bob enrolled at Plattsburgh State University and graduated with
a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education.
In 1963, he married the love of his life, Betty Pavone at St. John's Church. While attending college, he worked at Ayerst Labs, WPTZ, and PAFB. His teaching career commenced at Monty Street School and he later became the Educational Communications Director at AuSable Valley Central School District.
Bob and Betty were blessed with three loving children: BJ, Brian, and Beth and five beloved grandchildren: Tanner, Claire, Brendan, Kevin, and Liam.
Bob was a train enthusiast and had the opportunity to drive several
steam engines on historic scenic railroads.
Their love for travel led them around the world where they rode elephants, walked with lions, visited the Vatican, historic castles, and walked on the Great Wall of China.
Eventually, they gave up the RV lifestyle and built a winter home in Jensen Beach, Fla.
With heavy hearts, we bid fond farewell to Bob: master cookie baker, historical re-enactor with Platt's Volunteers, and devoted husband,
father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, sister Anita O'Neil, sister-in-law Rosemary Brenner, and numerous nieces and nephews.
May he rest in peace! With love, until we meet again.
At Bob's request, there will be no services.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901. Online condolences and memorial candles may be offered at
