Rita D. Rock died Thursday, April 11, 2019, in San Diego, Calif., after a brief illness. Born on Dec. 25, 1926, in Champlain, N.Y., she was the daughter of Peter and Dora Dumas and sister of Vezina, Catherine, and Robert (Bob), all predeceased. She was married to Joseph Rock for 70 years. She is survived by Joseph, one daughter, one grandson, and one great-grandson.
A Registered Nurse for 40 years, she worked as a Private Duty Nurse, office nurse for Dr. Clark in Chazy, a Medical/Surgical Nurse, an Industrial Nurse, and a Nursing Instructor and Director for the LVN program at Champlain Valley Educational Services (formerly BOCES). As a nurse, and as a person, she was beloved by all who knew her. No services are planned; those who knew her are asked to honor her kindness and caring for others.

A wonderful nurse who taught me a lot when I was a young nurse at old. CV hospital. Very respected as a nurse. Instructor colleague love her she will be missed thoughts and prayers to the family🙏🙏💕💕🎈♥️

Mrs. Rock was my nursing instructor at BOCES in 1982-1983. She was a great educator and I learned a great deal from her. My sympathy to her family.

Sorry for your loss Uncle Joe. I can hear the dealing of the cards and sound of change as everyone puts in their quarter. Aunt Rita saying the Queen and following the queen are wild. Rita was always a happy person and was always willing to help others. Love you and thank you for teaching us how to love and respect other while respect ourselve.
