Rita A. Columbe, age 88, of Miamisburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017. Born Aug. 3, 1929, she was a daughter to the late August and Matilda (Harting) Ferdelman. Rita worked many years as a bookkeeper and retired from the City of Dayton. She enjoyed reading, the outdoors, and spending time with family. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and sister. She will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister Delores Romie.
Survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas Columbe, whom she married on May 23, 1953; children Frank and Jill Columbe of Dayton, Ohio; Bill and Tammy Columbe of New Lebanon, Ohio; Bernie Columbe and Wendy Niederlander of Farmersville, Ohio; Therese Columbe and James Wilder of Miamisburg, Ohio; Marilyn and Tony Wyatt of West Carrollton, Ohio: 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings Mary Szanto of Dayton; Frank Ferdelman of Union, Ohio; Elizabeth (Linus) Fiely of Alabama; brother-in-law Don Romie of Dayton; as well as many more friends and family members.
