Phyllis "Bambi" Gaffney passed away on April 7th, 2019, at Westchester Hospital. Bambi was born on March 21, 1969.
She was raised in Wilmington, N.Y., and was a true "Mountain Mama." She enjoyed swimming in the Au Sable River, spending time in the woods with her husband, and camping in the Adirondacks. Bambi was known for her love of children and her deep empathy, especially for the elderly. She was a natural caregiver and her pride and joy were her seven grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, James Gaffney; her children Dawn Hall, Katherine Gaffney, and James Gaffney; four sisters (Dawn, Alice, LeeAnn, and Grace) and four brothers (Ted, Lyle, Cliff and Roy) numerous nieces and nephews and her seven grandchildren. Bambi was predeceased by her mother, Francis Ormsby and her oldest brother, Mark Holzer.
A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name Church in Au Sable Forks, N.Y., on Friday, April 12th, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh.

I remember Bambi being so incredibly happy while swimming and enjoying the river at the Wilmington Beach. She will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
