Patricia Ann Kanzler
Patricia was born on Feb. 23, 1956, in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md., to LTC Norbert Kanzler and Kathleen (McGivney) Kanzler. She was the oldest of three children, John Kanzler and Sheila Kanzler.
She was a major part of Innisfree Kennel, world renowned for Siberian Huskies and Shiba Inu. Her passion and love for animals was evident by everyone that knew her. There are very few people that have a true connection with animals. Their ability to work as a single unit anticipating each other's moves is a rare gift and when observed is an awe-inspiring performance. This was evident in 1980 when Trish won Best in Show at Westminster Dog Show with Ch. Innisfree's Sierra Cinnar. To date she is the youngest handler to win Best in Show at Westminster.
Trish was on the Board of Directors for the Siberian Husky Club of America. She was a professional handler, raced sled dogs, helped train dogs for the Iditarod race, and was always willing to help people understand animals.
She loved to travel, visiting all 50 US states and 6 of the 7 Continents of the World.
She is survived by her mother Kathleen; two siblings, John, his wife Pamela, and Sheila, her husband Frank; two nephews, Patrick and Kevin.
She will be missed by the dogs and horses of Innisfree that she loved and cared for every day.
A Celebration of Trish's life will be held at the American Legion Post 875, 80 W. Main St., Chateaugay, NY 12920 on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, from 1 to 4 p.m.
