Norman F. LaFountain Jr., 80, of Manor Drive, Rouses Point, passed away Saturday, June 9th at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on Aug. 3, 1937, the son of Norman and Lillian (Lashway) LaFountain.
Norman was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the VFW in Champlain, American Legion in Rouses Point, the DAV and the North Country Honor Flight. He also was a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Mooers Forks. In his spare time he was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed being with people. Norman worked at Wyeth in Rouses Point for many years, before retiring.
Survivors include, his former wife, Bernadette Trudeau and their children, Allen LaFountain and wife Bonnie of Plattsburgh, Gail Marnes and husband Tom of Morrisonville, Paula Begor and her husband Ronald of Morrisonville; his wife, Sandra LaFountain of Rouses Point and her children, Kim Gonyo and her husband Scott, Brian Hicks and wife Karen, Craig Hicks and wife Kammie, and Heather Hicks; his siblings, Gerald and Loretta LaFountain and Clarence and Paulette LaFountain; 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Norman was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Lillian, and his siblings, Wayne, Larry, Kenneth, Ronnie, Maynard (Bucky) and Mildred.
Calling hours will be held at St. Alexander's Church on Friday, June 15th from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in the parish cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Association or Hospice of the North Country.
