Nathalie's Story

Nathalie V. Golden, age 93, passed away in Hospice care on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at her daughter's home in Plattsburgh.
She was born at home on Aug. 18, 1924, on the Angelville Road to Ruth (LaPierre) and Albert Mooso of Sciota, N.Y.
Lovingly called Nat or Nana by friends and family, she was a devoted matriarch providing everyone who entered her home with love, care and food. She married Francis Golden under the blanket of a snow storm on Feb. 18, 1942. She was a dedicated wife, mother and Nana to everyone she came in contact with throughout her life. Nathalie and Francis's home was always open to everyone they knew with a pot of coffee and treats to enjoy over the kitchen table filling the room with plentiful conversation and laughter.
She was a fixture at the sporting events of her husband, Francis, as well as her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, rarely missing a game or tournament. Mothering came naturally to Nathalie, as she dedicated so much of her time and energy to nurturing each individual she came into contact with during her long and happy life. She believed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren could do no wrong and was proud to chant their achievements to all who would listen. She delivered honest and tough love while feeding the heart, mind and stomachs of those she held dear.
Nathalie held onto her feisty personality until her dying days and passed on those characteristics to the generations that will follow in her footsteps. She had a strong belief in the power of prayer and remained steadfast in her Catholic faith.
Her life will continue to be remembered and honored by her three children: Gary Golden, Gail Morris and husband Clayton Morris, and Gay Ellen Carlsson and companion John Moshelle; grandchildren, Josh Golden, Gretchen and husband Justin Rabideau, Sabrina and husband Mark Hamilton, and Olivia Carlsson; as well as many nieces and nephews, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Shirley Mooso; sister, Theo Dragoon; and parents, Ruth and Albert.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Peter's Church in Plattsburgh at 10:30 on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, followed by a reception in the Emmaus room.
The Golden family would like to share their sincere gratitude to Hospice of the North Country for their attentiveness and care.
In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the North Country or St. Peter's Church.
