Modesto "Danny"'s Story
Retired USAF Msgt. Modesto "Danny" Ramiro Padron, of Peru, N.Y. died unexpectedly on Dec. 20th, 2017 at the age of 72 in his home town of Bacarra - Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
Modesto is survived by his wife, Yolanda R. Padron of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; his son, Marion Padron and his wife Diana Padron and their three children, Brianna, Kaylee and Gavin Padron of Peru, N.Y.; his sister, Estrella and husband Gene Eugenio of San Jose, Calif.; sister, Helen and husband Tony Valenzuela of Salinas, Calif.; along with several nieces and nephews.
Modesto was born on April 7 1945 in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte Philippines. He proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force. While in the military, he attended USAF Noncommissioned Officer Leadership School and Academy. He received the USAF commendation Medal. AF Outstanding Unit Award with Seven Oak Leaf Clusters. AF Good Conduct Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters. National Defense Service Medal. AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with one Oak Leaf Cluster. AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon with four Oak Leaf Clusters. Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. He later obtained a career at Mold Rite Plastics as Quality Inspector.
Modesto was a devoted father and grandfather. He loved sports cars and enjoyed going to the firing range with his son. He was also an avid Billiard player since he was a teen. He often played at local pool halls and tournaments. His love for his grandchildren was evident. He was very proud of their endeavors and loved watching them play their favorite sport. He was a quiet and very kind and giving man. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A Mass will be held on Jan. 6th, 11 am at St. Augustine's Church in Peru, N.Y. Funeral service will be handled by Baquiran Funeral Home in Laoag City Philippines. Donations can be made to the St. Augustine Church.
