Martin Charles

Martin Charles "Marty" Clodgo, 53, passed away unexpectedly, March 17, 2019, at his apartment at victory way in Newington, Conn.
Marty was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., July 26, 1965, the son of Henry M. Clodgo Sr. and Kathleen A. Martin Clodgo. He was the youngest of five brothers. He lived in Keeseville, N.Y., until he graduated from AVCS in 1983. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1983-1987. He returned home and worked a couple of years in the construction field. During this time he was a member of the Keeseville Volunteer Fire Department. He then moved to Connecticut to live with his brother, Spike. While in Connecticut he worked as a union carpenter. Almost three years ago he landed in victory garden apartments in Newington, Conn.
Marty was an avid Boston Bruins and New York Yankees fan. He was also a NASCAR and all forms of motorsports racing fan. He also loved posting on facebook.
He is predeceased by his parents and brother, Spike.
He is survived by his brothers, Leon "Butch" and spouse Rosemary; Richard "Dick" and spouse Sandy, of Keeseville, N.Y.; and Robert "Bob" of Cary, N.C. He is also survived by several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A private burial ceremony will be conducted later in the spring at the convenience of the family, in the Port Douglas Cemetery.
The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts, prayers and cards. They were all very much appreciated.
The family would like to give a big thank you to his neighbors, friends and fellow veterans, especially his cooking partner where he spent the last nearly three years at victory gardens in Newington, Conn., for being there for him and putting up with him also. A big thank you so much for that.

Marty I miss you dearly. I miss seeing you everyday and cooking with you all day. We have a lot of good times and very few bad ones. I miss your phone calls in the middle of the night asking if I was hungry and wanted bacon and eggs. I wish you were here I just miss you a lot . Before I Cry Anymore I'm going to sign off. I love you and I miss you and I'll see you again.

I was your neighbor across the hall only two short years, in that time I enjoyed sharing some good times having a few drinks watching Nascar and football and reminiscing about our Navy experiences. Although we didn't speak of our personal lives much I appreciated your kind soul and will miss the laughs we shared.
RIP my friend,

I felt a huge stab of sadness when I read this. I have such fond memories of Marty as a little first grader but sadly have not known him as an adult. Sympathy to all who are now missing him so much.
