Mark Carney, 63, of Durrand Road in Beekmantown, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at his home. He was born in Jersey City, N.J., on Jan. 27, 1954, son of Harold and Gloria (Glean) Carney.
Mark graduated with a teaching degree from St. Bonaventure University and retired after teaching 8th and 5th grades in Long Valley, N.J. Mark enjoyed gardening, going to the beach and spending time with his grandkids. 'Grampy Mark' was loved dearly by all kids that met him.
He is survived by his father, Harold, sister (Karen Carney), fiancee Beverly Parker and family. Grandchildren: Rhonnie, Gabe, Kellen, Dorian, Rhilynn, Rhory, and Keira and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Gloria.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will be private.
