A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, March 30, 2017 at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh for Louise M. Brushnefski, 95, of Holyoke, Mass., formerly of Plattsburgh, N.Y., who passed peacefully into our Lord's arms on March 24, 2017. The Mass was celebrated by Rev. Timothy G, Canaan, Pastor and concelebrated by Fr. Normand Cote, Msgr. Jospeh Aubin, Fr. Patrick Mundy, Rev. Peter Berg, Fr. Daniel Keefe, Rev. Scott Seymour and Msgr. Dennis Duprey.
The funeral pall was placed by Louise's nephew and his wife Stephen, and Lorraine Brushnefski. Scripture readings were by Miriam Najimy, DHM, Superior and Louise's great-niece, Natasha Cucinella. The Gospel was proclaimed by Deacon Jack Cogan. Deacon of the Eucharist was Deacon Brian Neureuther and presentation of the gifts were by family friend, Toni Moffat and great-great-nephew, Julius Cucinella. Words of remembrance were by Louise's niece, Sandra Duquette and Miriam Najimy, DHM Superior. Altar servers were Louise's great-great-nieces Isabelle Cucinella and Lucia Cucinella; and Tom Rennell. Organist was George Canton. Pallbearers were nephews, Timothy, Gregory and James MacCallum, James Frenyea and Gary and Gregory Brushnefski. Burial will be held at 9:45 am Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Chazy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh.
