Linda R. Ivanenok, 73, of Peoria, passed away July 4, 2017, at her home. Beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and educator, Linda was
born in Saranac Lake on Aug. 29, 1943, the daughter of Edward and Joan (Putnam) Jabaut and raised in Chateaugay, N.Y.
She was a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh and served as a high school
English teacher in Homer and Cazenovia for several years before entering school administration, finishing her career as Superintendent at Star Lake.
Linda loved literature and learning, as well as a wide variety of music, passing on her enthusiasm to family, friends, and most of all her many students. All creatures great and small were also dear to her heart (beginning with farm yard 'pets'), with a particular affinity for cats.
She will be sadly missed by her sorrowing daughter Lisa (Jonathan)
Reynolds of Lee, Mass.; son Joe (Kim) of Peoria, Ariz.; and grandson Chris of Austin, Texas. Also by sister Jeannine Carney of Albany, NY and various nieces and friends.
A gathering to celebrate Linda's life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 7th, at the Rabideau Funeral Home, 5614 Route 11, Ellenburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
