Lillian E. St. Denis, 91, of Tanglewood Drive, Peru, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Plattsburgh, June 15, 1926, the daughter of George and Emma (Rabideau) Perry. Lillian grew up in Plattsburgh and graduated from Plattsburgh High School. She worked at Peru Central School for 30 years.
Lillian was the first of eight siblings, George, Rita, Richard, Robert, Theresa, Donald and Billy. She enjoyed Bingo on Monday nights at the Elks Lodge and dancing and traveling with her husband, Joseph.
Left to cherish the memory of Lillian are, her loving husband of 66 years, Joseph St. Denis, whom she married, July 22, 1951, in St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh; her children, Donna and husband, Charles Forgette, Lorri Gordon-Fountain and husband, Bob Fountain, and Mike and wife, Valerie St. Denis; three granddaughters (children of Donna and Charles), Lindsay and her husband, Matt Francis (their children, Hailey, Hannah and Kaelyn Francis), Melinda and her husband, Mark Fewster (Melinda's son, Logan Lavalley), and Michelle and son-in-law, Kyle LeClair; siblings, Robert Perry and wife, Mary, Donald Perry and wife, Carol, and Theresa Malloy; sister-in-law and wife of the late Richard Perry, Gladys Perry; sole nephew on the St. Denis side, Barton St. Denis; and many other nieces and nephews on the Perry side.
Lillian was predeceased by her parents; siblings, George Perry and sister-in-law Joan, Rita and husband, Albert Guyette, Richard Perry, and Billy Perry; two sons-in-law, (Lorri's husbands) Wayne Cook and Jerald Gordon; and grandson, Daniel Forgette.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. Committal prayers and burial will be held in the spring in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
