Lawrence (Larry) J. LaPoint, 50, of Chateaugay, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019, at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh.
Born on June 4, 1969, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., he was the son of the late Phillip LaPoint and Jane (LaBarre) and Ronald McDonald.
He was married to Joelle K. LaFlesh on April 24, 1993.
Larry graduated from Franklin Academy in 1989. He was employed by Burke Farm Supply for the past 18 years and drove a truck for Harrigan Bros Dairy Farm. He was a commissioner for the Chateaugay Brainardsville Fire District and a member of the Chateaugay and Burke Fire Department. Larry was an avid motorcycle rider and was a prospective member of Figure 8 Mountain Hunting Club.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years; mother and stepfather, Jane and Ronald McDonald; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Karen and John Titus, Bernadine and Ed Martin, Cheryl and Lloyd LaMore, Doreen McDonald; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Connie McDonald, Brian and Paula McDonald; mother and father-in-law, Eugene and Donna LaFlesh; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jody and Kelli LaFlesh; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; a special aunt and uncle, Elaine and Jim Woods.
Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Monday, July 15 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, Chateaugay on Tuesday, July 16 at 11 a.m.
Burial will be held in St. Edmund's Cemetery, Ellenburg.
A reception will be held at the Burke Fire Station following the service.
Donations in Larry's memory may be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center, Plattsburgh.

So very sorry for the tragic loss of this wonderful, kind, and fun-loving man. There are many great memories of Larry and Joelle at camp on the farm... Kentucky Derby days and especially his fantastic karaoke rendition of "Love Shack" at the summer picnic. We will miss him dearly.
