Lawrence's Story

Lawrence J. "Larry" Cormier, 68, of Fay Lane, passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at the UVM Health Network-CVPH with family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on Jan. 31, 1949, the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Ryan) Cormier.
Larry attended B.O.C.E.S. and Adirondack College and was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Clinton County Nursing Home and later was employed as a Corrections Officer at Clinton Correctional Facility for 33 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Church, a former member of Knights of Columbus Council 2166 and was a Past President of NYSCOBA. He was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan. He also enjoyed motorcycling, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of over 36 years, Patti (Bombard) Cormier, his siblings and their spouses, Henry and Heidi Cormier of Plattsburgh, Betty Ann and Steven Spinner of Dannemora, Linda Flick of Cadyville, Barbara and Brian Trombley of Peru, Sandra Cormier of Dannemora; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Marilyn Jakob of Brushton; three nieces, Chantal Cormier, Bridget Trombley, Wendy Krapowicz, a nephew, Brian Trombley, several cousins and his beloved pets Buster, Sophie and Gracie.
He was predeceased by his parents, a nephew, Aaron Cormier and brother-in-law, Robert Flick.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at 1 p.m. at St. Peter's Church. Memorial donations may be offered to the North Country Cancer Fund.
