Lavina M. Boyea
She was born on Feb. 26, 1917, the daughter of Florence and Bazile Patenaude.
Mrs. Boyea lived and attended school in Rockburn, Quebec, until the age of 17. She then moved to Chateaugay, N.Y., where she lived the remainder of her life.
She was married to Henry Boyea in 1939. He predeceased her in 1984.
Lavina's number one priority was the loving care that she gave her family. Her most enjoyable moments occurred when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren, who visited often. The smell of homemade bread welcomed many visitors. Mrs. Boyea's skills as a seamstress were well known. She was determined to make sure that all of her children and grandchildren received one of her beautiful hand-made quilts. When Lavina was not busy caring for her family, she could be found saying one of her many daily rosaries. She was a devoted communicant of St. Patrick's Church. Her strong faith carried her through many difficult times during the last few months.
Lavina is survived by three sons and three daughters, Jack Boyea and his wife, Peg, Leo Boyea and his wife, Irma, Ron Boyea and his wife, Helen, Joyce Boyea, Helen Ryan and her husband, Gerald, Betty Cook and her husband, Tommy; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband of 45 years, Henry Boyea, she was predeceased by her parents and a son, Bill who passed away on Aug. 15, 2017.
