Larry K. Brooks
He was born in Potsdam, Jan. 6, 1942, the son of the late, Raymond and Catherine (Kingsbury) Brooks. He grew up in Mooers and graduated from Mooers High School in 1959.
Larry loved the Lord, his family, farming, hiking, and dancing. He will be fondly remembered for his hard work ethic and his infectious smile.
He served on several boards including, Mooers Wesleyan Church, Mooers Camp Meeting Association, Clinton County Farm Bureau, Clinton County Soil and Water, Cornell Cooperative Extension, and Mooers Zoning.
Left to cherish the memory of Larry are his loving wife of 58 years, Janet (Rabideau) Brooks, who he married March 2, 1961, in the Mooers United Methodist Church; daughter, Tracy (Eric) Myers; son, Larry Lindon (Shelly) Brooks; daughter, Christina Brooks-Moore; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Trudy Graves, Karen Shield, and Thomas (Janice) Brooks; siblings-in-law, Evelyn Defayette, Dorothy (Rene) Coupal, and Leon (Sue) Rabideau; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Friday, March 15, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 10 a.m. in the Mooers Wesleyan Church with Rev. John Gillette, Church Pastor, officiating. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in the spring in the Mooers Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country or the Mooers Wesleyan Church.
