Joseph Gerald "Jerry" Geiling Jr., of Schuylerville, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 55 years old.
Jerry was born Nov. 24, 1961, in Red Bank, N.J., to Aileen Grant Geiling and Joseph Gerald Geiling Sr. He went to Elizabethtown Lewis Central School and graduated in 1980. He went on to serve two years in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a self-employed contractor for 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing, mountain climbing, spending time in Florida and at the Jersey Shore. Jerry was a 46er having successfully climbed all 46 Adirondack High Peaks. He was also a participant in the Landmark Worldwide Community. Jerry was a great father, husband, brother, son. He will be deeply missed by everyone who was fortunate to have known him.
Survivors in addition to his mother, Aileen Geiling, include his wife, Amy B. Geiling of Schuylerville, N.Y.; his two sons, Matthew Geiling and Stephen Geiling; his three sisters, Valerie (Mark) Finkle, Patty Blum, and Aileen (Joe) Martin; one brother, Grant (Betty) Geiling; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph G. Geiling Sr.
Friends may call on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at Flynn Brothers Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, N.Y., from 1 p.m. until the service at 3:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating.
