On Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, Joseph W. "Josey" Champagne, 28, of the Cass Road, Saranac, died unexpectedly. He was born in Plattsburgh on Feb. 28, 1989, the son of Christopher and Treza Moulton and Gary and Helen Champagne.
Josey lived life "out loud" as he liked to take risks, go fast and have fun. He loved bonfires and being outdoors. Josey loved his brothers and hanging with them. He was deeply in love with his fiancee, Kelsie Gillman and their son, Connor Favaro. Josey was filled with joy over his unborn baby "Lil' Josey" due in July 2018.
He leaves behind his mother and father, Chris and Treza Moulton; his "other mother," Helen Champagne; two brothers, Shane and Cody Champagne; nephew, Caleb Champagne; grandmother, Ramona (Ducatte) Gabriel; "Grama Donna" (Atkinson) Collins; his California Family, and many aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as the loves of his life, Kelsie Gillman, Connor Favaro and their unborn child, Lil' Josey.
He was predeceased by his father, Gary Champagne.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the Saranac United Methodist Church, 4 Parson's Road, Saranac, with pastor Larry Lake presiding.
